Daniel F. Savanuck, pictured, at the right, reads the memorial plaque dedicated to his son, Staff Sergeant Paul D. Savanuck. Mr. Savanuck visited the Defense Information School when it was located at Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1980 to donate numerous books to the school, now located at Fort Meade.

Today

Technical Reference Center (TRC): Provides a central repository for learning resources, such as books, magazines, newspapers, microforms, videotapes, audiocassettes, computer-based training and online services. The TRC provides an academic learning atmosphere and is staffed to support student and faculty needs. It is a reference research library and information retrieval center providing in depth data on subject matter directly related to the training programs.

A memorial tribute to Paul Savanuck who was killed in action during the Vietnam War is
located at the entrance to the
Technical Reference Center.
His family donates money annually for the purchase of photography books.
This special collection of materials is a cornerstone of the
Technical Reference Center collection.
